Lithium Prospectivity in the Northeast German and Thuringian Basins

This abstract has open access
Abstract Summary
Given the rapid increase in demand for electric vehicles in combination with EU net-zero targets, lithium is a vital component in the transition away from fossil fuel dependence. In this abstract, lithium content in the subsurface of Eastern Germany (specifically in the Northeast German Basin and Thuringian Basin) are investigated in order to better understand the extent and mode of lithium distribution.
